The Role

You will provide specialist Anatomical Pathology services within a major tertiary referral and teaching environment, supporting clinical decision-making across a broad range of surgical, oncology and multidisciplinary services.

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing high-level diagnostic Anatomical Pathology services
• Participating in tissue review meetings and multidisciplinary discussions
• Working collaboratively with scientific staff and other health professionals
• Providing undergraduate teaching to medical students
• Supervising and training postgraduate specialist trainees
• Participating in research activities and supporting research students
• Monitoring and contributing to the quality and effectiveness of pathology services
• Contributing to quality improvement, clinical governance and workplace safety initiatives
• Participating in administrative activities within the department
• Participating in on-call services as required

What We’re Looking For

• Specialist registration with AHPRA or eligibility through an appropriate specialist pathway
• Relevant specialist qualification in Anatomical Pathology
• Strong diagnostic pathology experience
• Excellent communication and multidisciplinary collaboration skills
• Commitment to teaching, supervision and professional development
• Interest in research and academic medicine
• Commitment to quality improvement and clinical governance
• RCPA autopsy certificates in adult and/or perinatal pathology, or equivalent, desirable
